Coati Block

61,840 gross acres in size, the Coati block is located in the Southern Putumayo Basin near the Colombia-Ecuador border. Since January 2010, C&C Energia Ltd. has held a 100% Participating Interest. The producing horizons are the Villeta and Caballos Formations. The Caballos Formation contains hydrocarbons in the Coati Block and the Villeta and U sandstones contain 29º and 36º API oil. Currently the Coati Block contains multiple projects:

  1. 2D seismic data shows the presence of two structural highs, both with the potential for stacked reservoirs. The southern structure is a simple four-way closure and the northern structure is a three-way hanging-wall anticline closure against a reverse fault.
  2. The southern structure has at least four potential reservoirs in the Cretaceous section.
  3. The Coati-1 well in the Caballos Formation is scheduled for 2011.
